Top Casino Themed Movies to Watch

Have you ever come across a gambler who plays online casino games but doesn’t watch casino-related movies? The answer is likely to be no because everyone loves to relive high stakes, thrills and big wins. With that in mind, there is a good chance that you are here because you love both excellent movies and gambling in online casinos.

Gambling is a fascinating activity, and this excitement has been captured in numerous casino-themed movies. Apart from just watching these movies for fun, players can acquire new gaming skills and concepts, which is a great reason to check out the best casino-themed movies. We have assembled a list of top films that can improve your gambling skills and mastery of games from reputable software developers, including Platincasino game providers.

‘Casino’ (Director Martin Scorsese, 1995)

Casino is an exciting movie directed by Martin Scorsese, one of the industry’s best directors. The movie helps showcase the mysterious and glamorous Vegas lifestyle experienced by regular people.

In the movie, Robert De Niro, who plays the role of Sam Ace, is a former gangster. He now leads a normal life and works for a top Vegas casino. It doesn’t take long before his old friend, Joe Pesci, playing a mafia boss, visits him. Even when Ace is playing by the rules, neither Nicky nor Ginger, two additional teammates for Ace, are playing by them.

The trio acquires more power that they use to cheat the system. However, the movie also shows their downfall. They are brought down by corrupt government officials, angry mafia leaders, and the FBI.

‘Ocean’s Eleven’ (Director Steven Soderbergh, 2001)

The movie is centered around Danny Ocean who is a known thief. Danny assembles a group of eleven con-artists to steal from three Vegas casinos; the Bellagio, MGM Grand, and The Mirage. The three casinos all belong to Terry Benedict, who happens to be Danny’s rival in love. Will they manage to execute a $150 million heist without being noticed?

What makes this movie stand out is the legendary cast consisting of superstars, including Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney. The movie is exciting because it combines many comic references with a good plot. It presents a good detail of glamour and elegance.

With a team of professional thieves, Danny would just need to break into a casino and walk home with a lot of cash.

‘Casino Royale’ (Director Martin Campbell, 2006)

This movie is a remake of an older film (Casino Royale) which premiered in 1973. It represents the high-stakes world filled with wealth, risk, and class. It is directed by Martin Campbell, who happens to be among the industry’s best directors.

The movie features the legendary James Bond played by Daniel Craig as the main actor. James Bond is on a mission to stop Le Chiffre, a banker of the Worldwide Criminal Organization, from winning at the Le Casino Royale in Montenegro in the high-stakes Texas Hold’Em game. Preventing Le Chiffre from winning means many organizations being affected as they will be left without proper financing.

The movie is full of dirty mind tricks and violence. It also shows how money laundering happens through gambling and the extravagant James Bond atmosphere. Since the day it was released, this classic movie has created a good reputation in the gambling community.

’21’ (Director Robert Luketic, 2008)

21 is directed by Robert Luketic, who is among the industry’s best movie directors. What makes this movie interesting is that it was developed based on a true story. It is a modern classic movie.

The setting of this movie is when gambling was not very popular among people. It features Kevin Spacey, who trains talented students to count cards in a major Las Vegas casino. Following after is hedonism, trickery and betrayal that couldn’t be predicted to happen. However, it does glamorise card counting to a degree, encouraging players to try this system out but with limited success.

‘The Gambler’ (Director Rupert Wyatt, 2014)

The Gambler is another great movie, this one directed by Rupert Wyatt. In the movie, Mark Wahlberg, who plays an English teacher, is very much into high stake gambling activities. Eventually, he ends up playing with some criminals and, in the process, loses in blackjack against them. He ends up owing these criminals $240 000 in cash. As you would expect, the criminals are not that impressed about it.

In the movie, Mark is looking for ways to get the money and settle his debt with the criminals to stay alive and clear of trouble. Although the movie has a predictable plot, it aims to show the disadvantages and downsides of gambling addiction and aggressive gambling.

It teaches that irresponsible gambling can destroy your life. This movie is worth your time as it involves a great script and a wonderful atmosphere. It also stands out from the rest as a movie that actually doesn’t completely glamorize the casino world.

There are so many good films out there that include gambling-related activities into their storyline. Some demonize it, some glorify it, but they come with great performances that leave us interested in playing casino games such as roulette, blackjack and poker. Though we have assembled some top movies in the industry that offer both entertainment and gambling strategies, there are many more that also provide such film thrills. With these movies you will also get a few lessons on gambling addiction and aggressive gambling.

You will also get a chance to watch some of the industry’s best actors, such as Brad Pitt, in action. However, you should understand that some movies have violent stories, and the strategies and moves utilized can get you into trouble if you attempt them. It is, therefore, your responsibility to ensure that you gamble responsibly in any online casino. Always play in reputable and licensed casinos, which means they are regulated and secure. It would be best to play with games from the best software and game developers since they are random and fair.

Script Writing Tips for Your First Film

The modern era brings vast opportunities for those who want to create their films and spread them worldwide. By using an average-price smartphone’s rear camera, users can capture stunning videos. Cutting-edge devices bring the opportunity to record videos in 4K just in a few taps.

Moreover, users can edit their videos on smartphones or desktops. Fortunately, the Internet is a treasure-chest with tons of free educational materials. Also, it foresees the opportunity to publish videos online for free.

However, if you want people to enjoy your film and share positive feedback, you need to make a well-thought-out movie. The only way to do so is to create a professional script. If you have zero experience in writing scripts, follow the tips below.

Check How a Script Should Look

A screenplay is not your vision of a further film and ideas that are written down. It is a document that describes characters, scenes, implies dialogues, etc. It should be well-structured and properly formatted. Thereupon, you need to take a deep dive into screenwriting and learn all ins and outs to create top-quality scripts.

Feel free to read different screenplays from other people to check out the way a screenplay should look. Explore the best scripts only to have a top baseline from the very beginning. Also, find a comprehensive screenwriting guide that will help you to create a top-notch script by following certain steps.

Allocate Plenty of Time

Scriptwriting is a time-consuming process. It needs a lot of time for planning, reviewing, and draft editing. Being a novice in scriptwriting, you will also need a lot of time to learn writing skills and obtain new knowledge. However, if you’re a student, you never should compromise on your education in college. Experiencing a lack of time for studying, you have to find a reliable homework help platform. Feel free to check the BestEssay review and discover if the site is worth its salt.

Develop a Strong Idea in your Mind

It’s impossible to sit behind your table and write a stunning screenplay from scratch. Firstly, you need to have a well-developed story in your mind. You need to create characters, their dialogues, actions, and imagine scenes. A film script will help you arrange all the thoughts in your head and write them down. Consequently, others will be able to read about all your ideas.

Note, a screenplay may imply information about angels and positions of cameras and lighting. All this information should be specified in your screenplay to transfer the picture in your head on paper.

Create an Outline

It is a very helpful stage of successful writing that every student knows. Most learners create outlines first, doing their assignments. It helps create well-structured papers and deliver ideas properly without a need to check some ExpertWriting reviews trying to get outside help.

Creating an outline, you will mark all the crucial moments in your plot and arrange them properly. Further, you’ll be able to expand all scenario twists in your screenplay and show them in more detail.

Try Writing Flash Drafts

Screenwriting may take a lot of time, especially if you like making everything perfect. Trying to make every act well-planned and described, you could make the writing process endless. In case you write your first script fast, try flash draft writing.

This technique is also known as freewriting. It needs an author to write a large amount of text in a limited amount of time. In mere words, you have to write everything that appears in your mind simultaneously. Don’t focus a lot on one scene and skip any possible mistakes in your drafts. You will polish them later.

This type of writing can also be used for writing academic papers by students. In case you’re an undergraduate who decided to write an assignment by yourself, after reading the Unemployed Professors review, feel free to use this technique for writing the first draft fast.

Avoid any distractions to concentrate on your thoughts. You can install app blocking software on your computer and use noise-canceling headphones to eliminate distractions while writing flash drafts.

Common Mistakes To Avoid

A lot of people who write a screenplay for the first time focus on details too much. For sure, details are extremely important. However, it’s vital not to overdo details in your script. Don’t be shy about jumping into the middle of scenes in your scenario. It will help you avoid the time-wasting scenes when characters come to a particular place, wait in a line, walk on streets, etc.

Also, you need to show, not to tell. Characters in your scenario shouldn’t talk about what they are going to do and why. They need to do and talk to each other like they would do so in real life. They can have their thoughts that shouldn’t be revealed. People who will watch your film will need to analyze characters and their behavior by themselves.

The Most Outstanding Scientific Discoveries of Students

Most scientific discoveries have occurred as a result of painstaking, purposeful, and insanely complex work aimed at making a breakthrough in the chosen area. However, history is full of examples when incredible discoveries were made by scientists when their gaze was pointed completely in the opposite direction. Sometimes outstanding discoveries happen in a completely unexpected way. For instance, they worked at developing a drug that could improve blood flow in the myocardium and deal with angina pectoris and coronary heart disease. Clinical trials showed that the medicine was practically useless for heart disease, but they created sildenafil, now better known as Viagra. Every discovery involves many sleepless nights and a tremendous amount of analyzed information. And even though students deal with a huge information flow, some scientific discoveries produce a special effect on them. When I was a student, I didn’t ask anyone to write me an essay just because I didn’t want to deprive myself of a chance to find out something new. And what scientific discoveries have students opened for themselves in college?

X-ray radiation

Two centuries ago, German physicist Wilhelm Roentgen was dealing with a cathode ray tube. Even though the tube itself was shielded, Roentgen paid attention that the cardboard covered with barium cyanide and located next to the tube began to glow in a dark room.

The scientist tried to obstruct the rays, but all things he put in front of them showed a similar effect. When he finally decided to do the same but with his hand, he saw that it transilluminated on the pic projected on the screen. He called his discovery “X-rays.” Soon after that, the technology was adopted by medical institutions and research laboratories. However, scientists didn’t realize the danger of prolonged exposure to X-rays.

Velcro fastener

One day, the Swiss engineer George de Mestral returned home from the walk with his dog and started cleaning the pet’s fur from burdock’s flower heads as he did it many times before. However, this time he decided to find out how these flowers look under a microscope. As it turned out, there were tiny hooks on each head, with the help of which they clung to the animal’s fur and clothing.

The engineer wasn’t going to come up with a new fasteners system but seeing how simple and strong hooks cling to fabric and wool, he still could not resist the temptation to give it a try. Through a painstaking process of trial and error, he realized that the most suitable material for making this type of fasteners was nylon.

Velcro fasteners became popular shortly after the NASA aerospace agency adopted the technology. And today, they are common in the production of everyday clothing and footwear. It is always necessary to look for opportunities in simple things, whatever you do, and get the best out of them to your advantage. For example, I know that if I pay someone to write my paper cheap, I will be able to free up my schedule and save money for my personal discoveries.

Brand-new stem cells

In 2012, the English biologist John Gordon and his Japanese colleague Sina Yamanaka got the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for creating stem cells from normal cells. To do this, scientists introduced only four genes into connective tissue cells. As a result, fibroblasts turned into immature stem cells with embryonic properties, making it possible to grow any organ from liver to heart. Thus, they have practically proven the reversibility of cell specialization.

Today, it is not a challenge to grow an internal organ from stem cells, and scientists hope that it will not be a big deal to create a liver and kidneys from one’s own cells in the future.

Innovation in robotic surgery

Robotic surgical solutions are less invasive and faster, so they are often associated with improved clinical outcomes such as quicker recovery times and lowered pain. Surgery robots enable surgeons to achieve the ultimate in surgical precision. Today, robotic surgical platforms are highly developed and are used in everything from the spine to endovascular procedures. For example, the da Vinci Surgical System, which is arguably the most famous platform for robotic surgery, translates the virtual movements of the surgeon’s hands into tiny movements performed by the robot inside the body. All this is visualized using laparoscopy. The da Vinci System has been used to treat more than 3 million patients worldwide.

Bioprosthesis, controlled by the power of thought

Until recently, lost limbs were replaced by plastic dummies or even hooks. In the last years, scientists have moved further and created bioprosthesis controlled by the power of thought and even transmit sensations from artificial fingers to the brain. Thus, even if a person cannot work on their assignments themselves, they can type a message to get SpeedyPaper help without anyone’s assistance.

In 2010, the UK company “RSL Steeper” presented a bioprosthetic arm that allows a person to open a door with a key, break eggs into a frying pan, and even hold a plastic cup. Well, the latter can be crushed with excessive force, but scientists have improved control over fingers’ grip in such a case.

In 2016, they created a prosthesis equipped with sensitivity sensors connected to the stump nerve endings. While such prostheses are quite expensive, they can become widespread in the future.

Designing a University Website: 9 Must-Haves

Technology has transformed education in many ways. Universities and other learning institutions have realized the need to have a functional website. Such websites provide essential information to parents, students, and other education industry stakeholders. They need to have a few key elements to guarantee high conversion rates. Here are the must-have attributes for modern university websites.

Seamless Navigation

Every university needs to have a website that allows easy navigation. Going from one page to another should not take longer than necessary. Web pages that take longer than three seconds to load usually experience a higher bounce rate. Also, sites that group content according to the visitor profiles simplify the navigation process. For instance, content can fall into various categories based on either content, audience, and utility.

Mobile Responsiveness

Mobile phones are the most popular and convenient devices when people need to find information. According to statistics, the number of smartphone users today surpasses the 3 billion mark. The current generation of students is practically glued to mobile screens. That’s why every learning institution should emphasize building a website that responds across a wide selection of mobile devices. It is easier to rank higher on search engines with a mobile-friendly website and experience increased enrollment rates.

Quality, Authentic Images

High-quality, authentic images are an added advantage to a university’s website. Pictures tell many stories, and you do not want to leave your story in the fate of stolen or photoshopped images. People are looking for a real experience and will likely shun an institution that uses fake photos. It is also essential to capture the institution’s diversity in student photos. In turn, you can attract all students’ groups. Also, happy faces create a sense of fulfillment, and aspiring students appreciate an institution that can guarantee happiness.

Valuable Content

Ensuring that a university’s website provides timely and valuable content is crucial. It sets a website apart and increases traffic. Good and valuable content also increases user satisfaction rates, i.e., your students’ satisfaction. Whether you are looking for an online discussion tool or need a good, write my term paper cheap service, you are likely to settle for a site with top-quality content. Creating such content takes time but is a cost-effective means to drive conversions. In any case, institutions can hire professional content creators to provide consistent and user-driven content.

Make Programs and Majors Visible

When users visit a university’s website, they are very likely interested in the type of programs and majors available. Making this information easy to find is important. Similar to slow loading websites, potential students might get frustrated looking for too long for the information they need and leave your page without completing their search. Having essential information on display guarantees a better user experience and higher enrollment rates.

Share Information on Job Placement

Many students enroll in courses hoping to land employment opportunities after graduating. University education is expensive, and people shudder at the thought of spending huge sums of money on their studies only to end up jobless. One way to inspire students is to provide an alumni page and introduce former students who found success after graduating. Such connections are essential for mentorship purposes. Besides, they open up the student’s mind to look at different possibilities after school.

Admissions Requirements

Ensuring information on admission requirements is available on the website is paramount. College requirements can be overwhelming and extensive. There is a high likelihood that visitors on the site are aware of the available courses. They might only need information on admission requirements. This includes everything from qualifying grades, standardized tests, fee structures, and information on financial assistance or scholarships. Providing a requirements checklist can ensure that applicants have a seamless application process. Remember to highlight deadlines to prevent applicants from missing out on admission.

Strategically Located Search Box

A university’s website contains a multitude of information and resources. Despite creating a user-friendly website, it is impossible to capture all information at a glance. Some visitors need specific information which may not be available on the home page. Most website users expect to find the search bar at either of the webpage’s top corners. Wherever you decide to place your search box matters and will determine how users access important information.

Location and Contacts

Some parents and students might want to visit the institution before applying. Providing an accurate location and contact details will facilitate travel and communication. Maps are a helpful resource for anyone who wishes to find the institution. It is important to ensure your website is location-aware to get the best out of digital maps. This way, anyone using a smartphone can find the institution without much difficulty.

As technology continues transforming education, there is no limit to the possibilities opening up. Having a user-friendly website is no longer an option. It is a necessity for any university keen on experiencing an increase in enrollment and keeping their students happy.

Water Filtration and Purification Basics

For my recent video in my bushcraft basics series I elected to make a short about water purification and filtration. It wasn’t the easiest video to research, but after a week of talking to experts and visiting outfitters, I came across the four best ways to filter and/or clean the water for drinking. Here is the short: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LJlmuBglps Here is water you should never drink:

  1. Radioactive water
  2. Water near agricultural streams, because of pesticides
  3. Water downstream of a coal-ash treatment area
  4. Any water in a dump
  5. Water downstream of a gold mine
  6. Untreated water in just about any stream or lake

Filtering water is important to take out protists, bacteria and viruses. I talked to an expert at the WHO and he narrowed do the list to this:

Protozoas:

  • Amoebiosis
  • Giardiasis – Fecal to oral (Giardia is the organism)
  • Crypto (resistant to chlorine disinfectants) (Cryptosporidium) the disease Cryptosporidiosis.

Bacterial (down to 200 nm)

  • Cholera (bacteria Vibrio cholerae) – most rapidly fatal (12-18 hours)
  • E. coli – Normal gut bacteria but certain strains produce toxins O157 causes blood in your kidneys. Toxiggelic and hemmoragic.
  • Typhoid : Caused by a type of Salmonella
  • Salmonella – bacteria that cause other diseases
  • Dysenteria (nickname for) – Chigella
  • Campilobactor – Often spread by birds and is in drinking water in streams

Viral (down to 25 nm)

  • Infectious hepatitis A / E
  • Rotavirus – globally main killer for infants
  • Norovirus – Transmitted through water

Many many others.

  • Ascaris worms – nutritional deficiencies
  • hookworms –
  • whipworms
  • Pathogenic helmins
  • Leptospira

Science of the Bushcraft Knife

I often get asked, what is the best survival knife or bushcraft knife. I find it hard to answer because knives are so diverse and the uses of each are unique to the individual using them. I have however, found that there are a few features that everyone should be aware of before they make up their minds. To help me start this discussion I made this short video about it:

I’m going to walk through the basics of a good outdoor knife, all the stuff you might wonder when you’re starting out.

Knife Anatomy

Let’s talk about the basic knife anatomy of what people might refer to as a bushcraft knife or survival knife. Just know there is a lot of variation in these knives too, but in the video I chose the Garberg from Morakniv. This terminology is going to let us talk about the knife properly.

First you have the blade. That’s what cuts. It can be made of lots of types of metal. We’ll get to that in a second.

Most of the time, one side is the cutting edge. The other is the spine.

This is the point.

The bevel refers to how the metal is ground to give the cutting edge. More on that in a sec.

Sometimes you have serrations in the knife, which are handy if, say, you’re cutting rope or need to saw through things a bit.

The tang – refers to how far the metal goes into the handle. In this case, it goes all the way through, and is called full tang.

The butt or pommel is at the end, which you can use to point things or say, break glass.

Tang

I want to start with this, because it will help me talk about knife construction. This is a full tang knife the handle just covers the metal. Goes all the way through. It makes it really strong for applications like this – batooning wood. Most of the time that won’t matter, but you wouldn’t want to hammer a ton with a partial tang knife

Metals

How to start. You can make a blade out of almost anything from simple rocks…

… to steel.

Very basically though, steel is technically an alloy of iron. That means it’s this element with other things added for strength. That usually means a bit of carbon – maybe 1-2%. If it’s stainless steel, you get an addition of up to 11% chromium.

Then you have stainless steel. That means it doesn’t rust. So if you’re fishing, or in a kayak you might bring any of these with you. You won’t have to care for them as much.

These blades that are known as carbon steel (even though they both have some carbon in them), will take more care. The benefit is that they’re often stronger, they can be sharpened in the field much easier. They are generally also your sharpest blades. The downside is that it also looses an edge a tad quicker. So you have to maintain them a bit more.

You can also choose laminated steels, like this the core of the blade is made of high carbon steel surrounded by a softer alloyed steel layer. The result is a knife blade with superior toughness and cutting edge retention. Thereby it reaches maximum sharpness and long life.

One last common one is Damascus steel. It’s made from folding up different metals before making the blade. More than anything it’s beautiful.

The EDGE

To get an edge you need to grind the metal down from a flat piece of metal

Here is the overview of metal grinds. The mora knife I used in the video has a scandi grind. I also showed one of my hollow grinds. I find the scandi is easy to sharpen, so it’s my favorite.

Firestarting

Now sometimes you’ll notice that some knives say they’re good for fire starting. Other say you can’t use a fire starter. That comes down to two things. The main thing is the grind and polishing the spine.

Now I should note why I’m using these mora knives. It’s mostly because I go to Sweden a lot, and Jonas and I competed in the Vasa, which ends in the town of Mora. If you want more information, go check out the rest of our youtube series on bushcraft basics!

How a roulette ball’s movement can be predicted with math

Demand for casino games is growing at a fast rate, the online gambling industry is currently worth over $55 billion dollars and is expected to reach $160 billion dollars by 2026. Roulette is one of the most played casino games, alongside poker slots and blackjack.

The game roulette was first played in the 18th century in France and was inspired by the Italian game of chance Biribi. The concept of roulette is fairly simply, a croupier spins a wheel of numbers and the player must bet on whether the ball will land on a single number, group of numbers or the colours red or black.

There are different variations of the game, for example American roulette has 38 numbered pockets while the European version has 37 pockets. The popularity of each variant depends on where you are in the world.

While this game has long been a popular choice at casino venues, it is now even more popular online. Online casino sites began hosting roulette games in the 1990’s and in recent years mobile casino sites and smartphone apps have become a convenient source of entertainment for fans of roulette.

One of the great things about this game is the simplicity of the games rules, there is less to remember than more complex casino games such as poker. However you do still need to play strategically in order to win.

Aside from the ease of play the online game offers other benefits, including the ability to choose between high stakes and low stakes games. There is also a huge variety of different roulette versions to choose from, in addition to American, European and French varieties, there are also fun themes like pinball or double wheels to enjoy online.

As we know, roulette is a game that requires strategic thinking in order to be successful. Understanding the math behind the game and how this can be used to predict ball movement is essential if you are playing to win big.

Calculating house edge

Firstly, to understand what it is you are up against you can use this simple formula to calculate the house edge:

House Edge = (Odds Against Success minus House Odds) x Probability of Success

The exact house edge will depend on what variant of the number you are playing. In games with one zero the casino’s house edge is 2.7%.

Basic strategies

Using complex mathematics and formulas can be a little intimidating for many players, particularly those who are new to the game. However there are a couple of basic roulette strategies that can get you started and help build your confidence in playing roulette.

The Fibonacci technique involves placing a bet that adds the total of your last two bets together, you can also pick even money bets such as red and black or odd and even. Another technique is the Martingale, using this strategy players simply place a larger bet every time they lose in the hopes of eventually recouping their losses.

Using the dealer’s signature

One way of predicting where the ball might land in a game of roulette is to look for the dealer’s signature, also known as sector slicing. This theory suggests that the dealer may hit the same numbers more often due to the way in which they spin the wheel.

While it is highly unlikely that they will keep hitting the exact same number repeatedly, it is possible that they might keep landing in the same section of the wheel. By figuring out which section this is and betting on it, you can increase your probability of winning.

The dealer might not even be aware that they have this signature as they probably do not put too much thought into the exact speed they spin the wheel at. It is the rhythm and the muscle memory that is responsible for the sector slicing phenomenon.

A roulette computer

While this is not a technique that can be used during gameplay (as it is considered cheating), there is a device called a roulette computer that can accurately predict where the ball will land on the wheel.

This special device works by reading the speed of the ball during the final moments of rotation as well as reading the angle of the ball’s descent. It will then turn out a prediction of which pockets have the highest probability of catching the ball.

A biased wheel

It is said that some wheels in land based casino venues throw up the same numbers too often to be considered completely random. The cause of this is not immediately obvious, it is likely due to the wear-and-tear of older wheels.

Frets sometimes become loose and non-visible damage can happen to the wheel’s pockets slowly over time. By observing this, you will learn where the ball most often lands and more accurate predictions can be made for future bets.

These are just a few methods for predicting the movement of a ball on a roulette wheel. While some apply only to land based games, others like the Fibonacci and Martingale can be tried out in both roulette tables online and bricks-and-mortar casinos.

Psychological Tricks to Make Blackjack an Attractive Game

In Blackjack, the aim is to use skill and strategy to reduce the house edge and beat the dealer with a higher value of cards without going over 21.  In casinos, the dealer must follow specific rules, including taking a card, known as a “hit” if the value of their hand is 16 or less.  The dealer must stick, or “stay” if their hand is 17 or more. In scientific terms, this finite-state means there are a small number of combinations the player can use for the best chance of increasing their winnings.

Basic strategy

A basic strategy in Blackjack will not let a player win each time, but on average you will win more from the casino than someone with no strategy. Using a basic strategy removes any fear or anxiety about play, creating a psychological state where you can remain focused and calm in your decision making.

You can download a basic strategy chart for Blackjack so you know which decision to make for each hand you are dealt until the chart recommends you stand. You can use some of the best blackjack systems to have the best chance of a win. Some of these systems have been used by Blackjack players for several years and proven to be successful.

Play online

A basic strategy chart is best used online by new players until the strategy is memorized for play in a land-based casino. Online play is slower and your focus is less distracted than if you are in a noisy and ornate brick-and-mortar casino. Playing Blackjack online is a psychological trick since even the smallest of distractions can derail the game and change a winning hand to a losing one.

Variables

One variation from the basic strategy for Blackjack is known as the Table State where you subtract one for each card 10 through ace and add one for each card two through six.  The psychology behind the variation is that the higher the number of your card, the more likely you are to see a card with a larger value. By using the table state variation, you create a third data point on whether to hit or stay. You need to do this without the casino getting wind of it or they may decide you are counting cards and cancel your account.

Play without fear

Having a positive mental attitude and being in a good frame of mind are important so that you stay within your budget and if you do have a bad run, you stay calm and continue playing your strategy since there is no way of knowing what the next card will be.

Mistakes happen

If you make a mistake that causes you to lose a hand, let it go to keep your mind clear for the next hand. or you may miss a perfect opportunity to hit. Research by psychologists Dr Gideon Keren and Professor Willem Wagenaar and published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology studied the most common errors made by Blackjack players. Looking at 112 players, they found that 44 per cent of playing errors involved not taking an extra card when they should have and 16 per cent of errors involved taking an extra card in error.

H.A.L.T

Blackjack requires the psychological strength to know when to stop playing. Doubling up on a loss is a terrible strategy that could lose your entire bankroll.  Keeping psychological control of your approach to the game will help you concentrate and analyze the hand to make precise, strategic and definitive choices.

The Most Popular Craps Systems

Craps is a popular casino game in which players bet on the total displayed on two dice. It is a game of chance, but there are strategies with choosing your bet that go beyond taking those with the lowest edge. At the beginning of a Craps game a ‘Come-Out’ roll is made and a ‘Point’ value set. The Point can be 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. The dice are then rolled again until the same Point – or a 7 – is rolled. The process can then begin again.

Iron Cross

For a safe betting system in craps, the Iron Cross is a popular choice since you only lose everything if a 7 appears whilst every other total offers a win. The strategy of Iron Cross craps aims for a win on your first roll, then making a profit on further rolls and moving on. More specifically, the Iron Cross system is a combination bet on two sets of numbers: the Field (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12), plus Place wagers on 5, 6, and 8, which is a bet that one of these totals will appear before a 7. The biggest advantage of the Iron Cross is that it helps reduce the overall house edge for players to around 1.14 per cent.

Pass and Come with odds

Betting pass and come with odds has the lowest house edge of any strategy that has you betting with the shooter. A pass line bet is a bet on the shooter’s roll to win, which means you are betting on the dice to roll a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll or on the shooter to successfully hit an established point. The pass line has a low house edge of 1.41 per cent. The house edge is even better with free odds, at 0.8 per cent with single odds, falling to 0.02 per cent at casinos that offer 100x odds.

If a point number is established on the come-out roll, a Come bet can be placed on whether any of the point numbers will be rolled. The odds are the same for Come plus odds.

Follow your pass bet with two or three come bets. Put the bulk of your bet in the free odds because they have no house edge. Start with the table’s minimum bet on pass or come, put the rest of your wager in odds, but check your bankroll can handle the risk.

Don’t Pass and Don’t Come with odds

The opposite of Pass and Come, these are bets against the shooter making his point, though the house edge is slightly lower at 1.36 per cent. Edges when laying the odds also decline, to 0.7 per cent down to 0.01 per cent with 100x. As with the pass and come plus odds, the odds have no house edge, though the Don’t Pass and Don’t Come bets do. Be aware that as with the Pass and Come with odds bets, the total wager can be significant, even starting with minimum bets.

Placing 6 & 8

This strategy is popular because you get to pick your own numbers, instead of waiting for the shooter to establish a point. You simply place bet on the 6 or 8 coming up before a 7 is rolled. The reason for this is that other than 7, the 6 and 8 are the most frequently rolled numbers. The house edge is higher on placing 6 and 8 at 1.52 per cent, which is still lower than most bets you can make in a casino.
